Starting My Own Email Newsletter – Sharing My Abstract Art Passion
I’ve been blogging about my abstract art journey for a while now, with posts like “Celebrating 100 Abstract Art Blog Posts“, “Abstract Art Therapy: A Creative Way to Meditate and Relax“, “Painting Your Feelings“, “Storytelling Through Abstract Painting“, “Exploring the Power of Colour in Abstract Art” and many more.
But I’m taking things to the next level by starting my very own email newsletter!
This is my 101 blog post and I’ve decided to dedicate it to starting my new email newsletter.
Why I Decided to Start an Art Email Newsletter
- I’m incredibly passionate about the profound benefits abstract art can have for overall emotional well-being, inner peace and nurturing one’s spirit. Creating and appreciating abstract art has been deeply transformative for my own personal growth and finding calm amidst life’s stresses.
- The act of abstract artmaking or viewing allows such powerful yet healthy self-expression of thoughts, feelings and experiences. It cultivates a state of mindful living by pulling you into the present moment. Abstract art also sparks unlimited creative exploration that awakens curiosity and imagination and seeing the world through a new lens.
- I truly believe that engaging with abstract art in these ways can help a wide range of people reduce anxiety, process difficult emotions, silence negative self-talk and ultimately inspire more joy, self-awareness and self-love. It nurtures the soul.
- An email newsletter feels like the perfect intimate, easily accessible channel to build an encouraging community around this passion for abstract art as a mode of authentic self-care. I’ll be able to connect directly with readers’ inboxes and make it a personal journey we explore together.
Defining My Newsletter’s Purpose
- The driving purpose behind my email newsletter is profound. It aims to inspire and empower people from all backgrounds. Artistic skill level does not matter. Prior experience is not required. The goal is for everyone to experience abstract art’s therapeutic effects. These effects provide emotional well-being and inner peace. Abstract art has restorative powers for the mind and soul.
- It is not about creating art, it’s more about finding the inner peace within. I want this newsletter to serve as an encouraging guide for using abstract art as a tool for self-discovery, meditation, creative expression and nurturing one’s spirit.
- I will share my authentic voice, relatable personal experiences and my evolving abstract art journey. The newsletters will convey abstract art’s cathartic effects and attempt to provide emotional release. The newsletters will explain abstract art’s ability to induce flow states. These are states of timeless focus and presence. Ultimately, the newsletters will open minds to new perspectives. Readers will gain insightful perspectives on themselves and the world.
- The overarching intention is to demystify abstract art as an approachable, fun and judgement-free space for self-care, personal growth and creative exploration that anyone can beneficially practice.
Content Ideas I’m Excited About for the Newsletter
- Creative abstract art prompts and challenges will encourage readers to explore different emotions, thoughts and viewpoints through an uncensored, judgement-free mode of self-expression. They’ll be invited to tap into their intuitive gestures and authentic internal experiences.
- An exploration of how different colours and shapes can influence our moods, energy levels and emotional states. I’ll provide insights on being more conscious of these visual elements and how to harness their effects for emotional well-being.
- A deep dive into how abstract art uses colour and shape almost like a visual vocabulary or language to convey stories, narratives and experiences without words. I’ll examine and explain the power of visual storytelling.
- Explanations of how finding your own personal story, emotional resonance and subjective interpretation when viewing an abstract piece is ultimately more important and valuable than trying to decipher the original artist’s intent.
- Consistent features highlighting comments, feedback, personal anecdotes and creative contributions from subscribers themselves. This community input and dialogue will be an invaluable part of shaping the newsletter content.
- Tips for finding examples of unexpected, impromptu abstract art in everyday surroundings like nature’s patterns, architectural lines and designs, even accidental spills or stains will help train readers’ eyes to appreciate beauty in new ways.
The core concept will be empowering readers to engage with abstract art through a personal lens – forging their own emotional connections, stories and creative self-expression from the colours, shapes and visual prompts.
Subscriber perspectives will be paramount for building an interactive community experience around nurturing emotional well-being through abstract art appreciation and practice.
