This Abstract Painting
Abstract and contemporary art never stops to amaze me because of the sheer emotional power of colours, shapes and lines. It isn’t just about the aesthetic beauty of the art itself, but more about the possible emotions that could be triggered by the artwork.
I like colours and this abstract and contemporary art painting is full of amazing different shades of different colours.
You might be able to feel the space represented by the white colour which is also contrasting with the powerful black. The pink colour shades bring warmth and balance nicely with the cold blue shades creating a comfortable harmony.
There’s such a variety in the application of paint that allows you to think about all sorts of different things that one may experience in life.
I would rather leave it to you to explore the painting without any influence from my side as it isn’t about my story, it’s about yours.
For me, it’s enormously pleasurable just to look at the painting and to re-live the amazing journey of creating it in my cold studio while playing my favourite music.
A painting reveals more of itself over time and that is the key with any painting, but more specifically abstract and contemporary art. Any painting on any wall is stationary, it’s immobile and yet it changes for you over time. You could find a beautiful narrative story within it – your story.
One of the amazing things about abstract painting is that you benefit from taking your time. Start by glancing at the painting and find a colour, shape or line that stands out to you and trace not only the colour but how it applies.
If you are new to abstract and contemporary art painting, it might be useful when you look at an abstract painting to think about music without words. In a sense, what an abstract painting is asking you to do is to be satisfied with composition, colour, brushstrokes, palette knife movements, tonalities, etc. the way that you are satisfied with notes and rhythms and harmonies in music.
Music doesn’t always need words and painting, particularly abstract, doesn’t always need to represent something. It can simply sometimes just be itself.
