Gold Oil

This Abstract Painting
When I look at my painting “Gold Oil,” I see a piece of a personal narrative on canvas. It’s an abstract painting that really shows what I love about art. Let me tell you about it.
The Colours I Used
I picked just three main colours for this painting: black, gold and white. Each one means something special to me:
- Black makes me think of confidence and mysteries.
- Gold feels warm and full of life. The colour of energy, hope and optimism.
- White is like a fresh start, full of new chances.
(Colours have always fascinated me, not just as an artist but as a window into human psychology. That’s why I decided to explore this topic in depth on my blog “What Does Your Favourite Colour Say About You?”. Have a look and let me know your thoughts).
I love using just a few colours. It’s fun to mix them and see how many different shades I can make. In “Gold Oil,” you’ll see lots of greys and soft gold tones that came from blending these three colours.
How I Made It
I used oil paints to make “Gold Oil.” Sometimes I put the paint on thick and other times I spread it thin. I like how this makes some parts of the painting feel calm, while others look like they’re moving.
I didn’t plan out exactly where each brush stroke would go. Instead, I let my feelings guide my hand. This way, the painting has both quiet areas and busy parts. I think this makes it interesting to look at.
What It Means to Me
When I painted “Gold Oil,” I put a lot of my feelings into it. Each brush stroke carries a bit of my experiences and memories. The gold and black parts are really important to me. These two colours in this abstract painting stand for wealth and power – elements of a personal experience.
But here’s the thing – what I see in the painting isn’t as important as what you see. That’s why I love abstract art. It lets everyone find their own meaning.
What You Might See
When you look at “Gold Oil,” I want you to forget about what I’ve said it means to me. Instead, let your imagination run wild. Maybe you’ll see a story in the swirls of black and gold. Or perhaps it’ll remind you of a place you’ve been or a feeling you’ve had.
Every time you look at it, you might notice something new. That’s what makes abstract art so exciting to me. It’s like the painting changes each time you see it, depending on how you’re feeling that day.
I hope when you look at “Gold Oil,” it makes you feel something. Whether it’s happy, thoughtful or even a bit confused, that’s okay. Art is all about connecting with it in your own way.
So, that’s my painting “Gold Oil.” It’s a big part of who I am as an artist, but now it’s up to you to decide what it means to you.
