This Abstract Painting
Elevate is another abstract painting that took me on a journey to a different dimension to experience the feelings and emotions of colours.
Abstract painting to me is probably the most personal experience I go through entirely alone but brings me back an indescribable joy and satisfaction.
No thought process is involved – just me on my own with my headphones playing my favourite music. It is hard to explain in words what it feels like to spend several hours not thinking but all the time trying to feel the communication of the emotion and energy of the colours, not knowing when, where and how this journey is going to end.
The struggle between two contrasting powerful colours, black and white (my favourite colours) produces great energy. Each is trying to be the most dominant. Black is a very strong colour and I used a large quantity of white paint to balance between the two colours.
The added pink and yellow paints managed to contain such energy and provide a calmer atmosphere, finishing off with a touch of blue.
As always, the hardest part of abstract painting is knowing when to stop.

- Each painting is finished with a light coat of varnish.
- The sides are painted acrylic white.

- Environment: My little contribution to the environment. I do my best to hand-write, as much as possible, to minimise paper and printing waste. I also try to recycle packaging materials, where possible.
